In the alternate timeline where the Cold War never ended, Mylene Hoffman, a cyborg agent of the Western Block's 00 Organization, operates covertly in 'J-Country', a border zone between the two blocs. While investigating human trafficking, she encounters Chris, with whom she develops feelings despite completing her mission and returning to headquarters. Assigned to retrieve Dr. Klein, creator of Mylene's cyborg enhancements, Mylene discovers Chris as an experimental subject during the rescue attempt. Failing to complete her mission due to distraction, Mylene has her license revoked but decides to uncover her buried memories independently.
