Years following the events of 'The Shining', Dan Torrance (Ewan McGregor), still haunted by his past at the Overlook Hotel, uses his psychic power called 'the shine' to survive as a drifter. He meets Abra Stone (Kyliegh Curran), a teenager who also possesses the shine and is being hunted by a cult known as The True Knot, led by Rose the Hat (Rebecca Ferguson).
