Pauline, an 18-year-old aspiring surgeon, struggles with her controlling Christian mother and caring for her younger sister Grace who has Cystic Fibrosis. Pauline's peculiar fantasies involve gruesome medical procedures intertwined with sexual undertones. Her classmates find her odd, and she feels misunderstood. To make her mother proud, Pauline tries to arrange a lung transplant for Grace from an unknown donor.
