Michael D'Angelo is a washed-up alcoholic cop. Demoted from his job and living in the past, he takes out his pain by exploring the nightlife of Los Angeles. Michael D'Angelo, once a celebrated LAPD detective now reduced to a liquor-soaked has-been, prowls LA's nightlife under the cloak of darkness. Meanwhile, Theresa, his one true love, ascends to power as Assistant District Attorney, her marriage to prominent surgeon Peter seemingly idyllic, until it isn't. As Theresa takes on a high-profile case against a suspected serial killer, threatening letters arrive.
