Graham suffers from short-term memory loss, causing him to forget most things after a few minutes. He works as a photocopy clerk under Sabine's supervision, who exploits his condition for her own gain. Graham's family struggles with his condition, as he no longer recognizes them. A new temp, Irene, falls in love with Graham despite his memory loss. She tries to help him navigate life using his notebook and eventually becomes involved in an affair with him.
