Paul, a Bucharest banker married for ten years to Adriana and with an adored daughter Mara, has been secretly having an affair with Raluca, Mara's attractive orthodontist. As Christmas approaches, tensions mount between Paul and his wife due to his deceit. After confessing his affair to Adriana, she orders him to move out and remain silent about it to Mara.
