Mikhail, a successful Moscow lawyer, has his life turned upside down when Diana, his first love and daughter of a Gypsy baron, reappears after 16 years. She asks for help to free their daughter Yana from prison, promising to disappear afterwards if Mikhail agrees to keep his true identity secret. Mikhail, who has been living under the guise of another person, must confront his hidden Gypsy past as Mihai Demeter when he returns to his old camp in an attempt to save Yana and uncover his own true self.
