Full Biography

Marilyn Monroe (1926-1962), born Norma Jeane Mortenson, was an American actress and model known for her comedic 'blonde bombshell' roles. Born in Los Angeles, she spent a troubled childhood in foster homes before marrying at age 16. She began modeling during WWII, leading to minor film roles with Fox and Columbia. After being typecast and underpaid, Monroe formed her own production company in 1954. Her notable films include 'Niagara', 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes', 'The Seven Year Itch', 'Bus Stop', 'The Prince and the Showgirl', and 'Some Like It Hot'. Despite never being nominated for an Oscar, she remains a pop culture icon.

Story

Nick is a wealthy man who had his wife Ellen declared legally dead years ago after she went missing at sea. He remarries but on the same day, Ellen returns home alive and well from being stranded on a desert island for seven years. This unfinished remake of 'My Favorite Wife' follows the comedic chaos that ensues as Nick tries to hide Ellen's return from his new wife, who is unaware of his first marriage.

Summary

Something's Got to Give is an unfinished 1962 romantic comedy film directed by George Cukor and starring Marilyn Monroe. It was intended as a remake of the 1940 film My Favorite Wife but remained unfinished due to Monroe's sudden death during production in August 1962. Most of the footage was unseen until it was restored into a 37-minute short which aired on television in 2001.
