Standing at 5′ 4″ (1.63 m), she began her career in the late 1990s and became a notable figure in independent genre cinema and straight-to-video productions. Growing up in a large family, she is the sister of Tauni Lei, Kori Jo, Codie Ann, and Mikeala Elizabeth.
Her professional acting debut came with the film Killer's Mind (1999), often credited as Cara Basso. She gained further visibility for her role as Angie in the horror sequel The Corpse Grinders 2 (2000), directed by cult filmmaker Ted V. Mikels.
