"Sweden's allure often lies in its blonde-haired, svelte women. Frida Hallgren embodies this archetype perfectly; she was born in Stockholm and honed her acting skills at Malmo's theater scene. Her cinematic debut occurred in 'Det forsta aventyret' (1988), followed by minor roles in films like 'Svart Lucia' (1992), 'The Searchers' (1993), 'The Slingshot' (1993), and '30:e november' (1995). On television, Frida played Helena Linder in the Stockholm-based soap opera 'Tre kronor'. However, her career's zenith arrived in 2004 when she was named one of European Films' 'Shooting Stars', thanks to her performance in 'As It Is in Heaven' (2004), a Best Foreign Language Film Oscar nominee. Story
A renowned conductor, Erik Ericsson (Michael Nyqvist), abruptly leaves his successful international career to return to his rural Swedish hometown of Houset. He agrees to listen to the local church choir and subsequently becomes its new conductor.
