After attending the University of Hawaii and modeling in Honolulu, she acted in her first play, 'The Winter's Tale'. She appeared in notable films like 'Rambo: First Blood Part II' (1985) and 'Sidekicks' (1992). Nickson was married to actor David Soul from 1987-1993; they have a daughter named China Soul, who is now a singer/songwriter.
