DeLauné Michel is the founding producer of Spoken Interludes, a reading series that is recorded and broadcast by NPR station FM 89.9 KCRW. She was raised in South Louisiana in a literary family that includes André Dubus and James Lee Burke. Ms. Michel trained as an actor in NYC, now in LA, she works in theatre (such as her critically-acclaimed one-woman show, Southern Gothic) tv (NYPD Blue, JAG, etc) and films (including Harry Shearer's Teddy Bear's Picnic). Ms. Michel's short stories have won the Pacificus Foundation Literary Award and the Thomas Wolf Short Fiction Award.
