Born as Edyta Jungowska on February 1, 1966, in Warsaw, Poland, she has established herself as a versatile and beloved figure in Polish theater, film, and television. She began her professional journey at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw, graduating in 1989.
Jungowska’s early career was marked by significant theatrical success, notably her 1990 role as Miss Maliczewska in Zapolska, Zapolska, directed by Adam Hanuszkiewicz. While she gained immense national popularity playing the character of Sister Bożenka in the long-running medical drama Na dobre i na złe (2000–2012), her cinematic talent was most critically acclaimed in Dorota Kędzierzawska's Jestem (2005), where her portrayal of a troubled mother earned her a nomination for the Polish Academy Award (Orzeł). Beyond the screen, she has become a celebrated voice artist, particularly known for her audiobook recordings of Astrid Lindgren's children's classics.
