Born as Elena Kampouris on September 16, 1997, in New York City, the actress was raised in Bridgewater Township, New Jersey. She is the daughter of Ivey Barry, an American fashion illustrator of English and French descent, and Alexander Kampouris, a Greek wine store owner from the island of Kasos.
Kampouris began her professional career in 2012 with a guest appearance on Gossip Girl before making her film debut in the drama Labor Day (2013). She gained widespread recognition for her role as Paris Miller in the hit sequels My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 and My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3. Her television credits include lead roles in the thriller series Sacred Lies and the Netflix superhero drama Jupiter's Legacy. A versatile performer, she made her Broadway debut in 2016 and is notably multilingual, being fluent in English, Greek, Mandarin, and Italian.
