Marina Sirtis is a British-American actress best known for her iconic portrayal of Counselor Deanna Troi in the Star Trek franchise. Born on March 29, 1955, in London to Greek parents, she pursued her passion for performing at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After starting her career on the British stage and in television, she took a leap of faith by moving to Los Angeles in 1986. Just days before her visa was set to expire, she landed the career-defining role in Star Trek: The Next Generation, where she spent seven seasons playing the half-Betazoid empath.
Beyond the bridge of the Enterprise, Sirtis has enjoyed a prolific career as a voice actress, most notably voicing the villainous Demona in the cult classic animated series Gargoyles. Her versatile screen presence has led to guest spots on major hits like NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy, and The Orville, as well as a return to her most famous character in the series Star Trek: Picard. After decades in Hollywood, she moved back to London in 2021 to reconnect with her roots and continue her work in British theater and television. Known for her sharp wit and candid personality, she remains a beloved figure and a staple guest at fan conventions worldwide.
