Ulla Koppel is a Danish actress and activist born as Ulla Lemvigh-Müller on March 18, 1948, in Copenhagen, Denmark. She gained international recognition for her role as Nys in the controversial 1970 film "Quiet Days in Clichy" (Stille dage i Clichy), an adaptation of Henry Miller's novel directed by Jens Jørgen Thorsen.
In addition to her work in film, she was a prominent figure in the Danish cultural scene as a singer and a co-founder of the activist performance group Solvognen. Before marrying the renowned Danish musician and composer Anders Koppel in August 1969, she released music under her maiden name. The couple has three children who are also active in the arts: daughters Sara and Marie Carmen, and son Benjamin. In more recent years, she has shifted her creative focus toward visual arts.
